The Artist
She is best known for her early work at aged four but has continued to paint while growing up in Leicestershire near Market Harborough. Her talent to express herself through painting astonished the world as at that time she was not speaking. Iris met Thula, a Maine coon cat in 2014 and life at home started to change. They had an immediate affinity. At this point Iris started to open up and communicate with Thula in a way that she hadn’t done before and this started her amazing journey with many animals .
The Book
Arabella documented their journey through diary entries and photographs and now tells Iris’s story in her first book. It is illustrated in full colour with photographs and of course Iris’s beautiful paintings. ‘Iris Grace’ has been published in Hardcover by Penguin and has been translated into 11 languages.

Unbelievable! Can we get a catalog of the paitings ? Eli Baran,Israel, 56 Yehoshua Ben Nun str. Hrezlia 46763
I cant explain my overwhelming joy when I came across Iris’ story! She warms my heart so much and I am so glad that God has given her such a beautiful talent to help her cope with the bad days. I absolutely love her curiosity and intelligence; and her pure love for Thula is so inspiring! I cant wait to see more of her amazing paintings!
p.s. PLEASE READ “A MANGO SHAPED SPACE” by Wendy Mass!!! This book reminds me sooo much of Iris! It is about a girl who has synesthesia – she associates color, shape, and texture with letters, words, sounds, tastes and more! This is a real condition and I think you might find it very interesting! Also the girl in the book, Mia, has a cat named mango (because that is the color of the cat’s purr) that she is extremely close to like Thula is to Iris.

Madison
We also have a 5 year old daughter with autism (still non verbal), who was also diagnosed with autism in December 2011. I wish our daughters could be little friends! I am very admirative of all the work you have done with her and that you were able to find that art therapy is her thing and helps her progress. She seems to be feeling so serene and secure in your beautiful pictures, this is all thanks to your efforts! She is really talented, but also a gorgeous little girl who wants to enjoy herself. I know things mustn’t always be as easy as the beautiful pictures you post, so I wanted to send you my encouragements. We haven’t found the equivalent activity for our daughter, I hope we will. And I hope we can some day have the same cat too 🙂 I will order your cards for christmas, they’ll be the best ones ever. Best wishes!
Thankyou for your message Anne-Marie, very much appreciated x
SHE IS AMAZING! she was only 3 and she could do this? even i cant draw/paint my self but her arts are really interesting.
Beautiful and inspiring.
May you tell me where i could buy some of these beautiful paintings if they are for sale, i know how precious ur childs paintings are.
The names of them have really hit home with me, i suffer with bipolar and currently on a downer with meds trying to bring me back to a certain level. I have never felt so calm at ease and rested no worries no tears there was just tranquility when i saw the ones i saw and the music i heard from the clip was playing over and over in my head. I realised i had sat and looked at her picture for 45 minutes before i heard the beeping of the cooker timer. Lol lamb chops were cooked but nothing else.
If one picture can make me feel like i just felt i would buy one. Not to have those terrible feelings daily would be amazing and from a child so young who has a disability herself (if thats what you call it).
God bless you and your family xxxx
