Be inspired by the extraordinary paintings from a young autistic artist from England.
The Artist
She is best known for her early work at aged four but has continued to paint while growing up in Leicestershire near Market Harborough. Her talent to express herself through painting astonished the world as at that time she was not speaking. Iris’s mother Arabella Carter-Johnson shares her art to inspire and raise awareness of her condition.
The story is published Globally and Iris sells paintings to private art collectors in the UK and all over the world including Angelina Jolie.

Iris met Thula, a Maine coon cat in 2014 and life at home started to change. They had an immediate affinity. At this point Iris started to open up and communicate with Thula in a way that she hadn’t done before and this started her amazing journey with many animals .
The Book
Arabella documented their journey through diary entries and photographs and now tells Iris’s story in her first book. It is illustrated in full colour with photographs and of course Iris’s beautiful paintings. ‘Iris Grace’ has been published in Hardcover by Penguin and has been translated into 11 languages.

I got an inspiration and impression after Iris’s painting.
Actually I am a Korean and also have a sister with autism and mental retardation.
She is 28 years old but still act like children.
I would like to show my sister another world.
Could you please help me?
I hope your reply.
Hi, I would suggest to observe her closely, try and see what she likes the most, her interests, passions, what makes her happy and use those things to interact with your sister. There are so many different therapies but we have found that by using the person’s interests you have the greatest chance of engaging them. Music and art can help immensely and so can animals. I wish I could offer further help but without understanding and knowing your sister its not easy to know how to help. Best Wishes, Arabella
Thank you for asking a mail.
Let me introduce my sister.
She got a car accident when she was 5 years old.
I think it makes her happy when she paints.
Also She likes to listen a music her favourite.
(not a pop or trendy music.. very old song even though I don’t know)
So my mother has used the time for my sister’s education.
But Korean tend to feel a pity to the handicapped people. it occurs the family
feel small in the society.
sometimes it gave my mother to be frustrated and I guess those things may remain in my mother’s mind as a hurt.
I would you to not only give some advise for my sister and my mother but some tips for coming true my sister’s dream.
I want to keep in touch with you.
