Stunning – ordinarily, one might assume the style derivative of Monet’s high Water Lilly period, otherwise you must bow to Iris as an exquisitely gifted savant. Thank you Iris!

I don’t understand some of these comments. Specially the ones that speak to the way she sees the world as chaotic. As i peruse the paintings it gives me a very unique feeling. Her style is quite unique and its at its rawest form right now. Its instinctual and unsullied. As you look at these paintings you see her style, her signature, are ever present. And when she is older and maybe even centuries from now, her paintings will be so unique in their style, beauty and color, that you will be able to walk up to a painting and recognize her work. It has a very distinct quality. I am for one deeply moved by them and i wish i could afford one of her originals. Not because of what they might be worth but because to really appreciate it you have to view it up close to appreciate the strokes and nature of the stroke. It pulls you into the mind of the creator and helps you see and feel what they felt. The secret of the paintings are in its strokes. And the unique experience that she experiences can only be grasped by a close study and appreciation of the strokes. Its like reading sheet music. You hear the music play in your mind as you observe the strokes. Thank you for sharing this with the world.

Its almost as if in say about 100 years (or even sooner) you will walk up to one of Iriss’ works and say … yes thats an ‘Iris Grace painting’ without even looking at the signature of its origin….you are so right there Max, her art touches my soul….

I agree with you Max! I do think that people tend to confuse chaos with a lack of intentional structural boundary. Besides, the translucent, subtly layered delicacy of Iris’s paintings are very far from the aggressive, spontaneous energy one sees in say, a Jackson Pollock canvas.

What a wonderful artist your daughter is. I was able to watch her video. I loved seeing her paint. Her eyes light up.. and her beautiful smile…. and the little noises she makes for certain brush movements. She’s a beautiful little soul! My son is 17yrs old and has aspergers. Its a joy to see her so happy doing what she loves. Pass her some hugs from Detroit 🙂
